Nigerian refugees who fled due to Boko Haram insurgency are returning to their homeland this Monday 15th March 2021in a voluntary repartition process.
This is a second batch, consisting of 369 refugees who spend six years in Cameroon' s Minawao refugee camp. They were boarded in 13 buses. The governor of the Far North region Migiyawa Bakary told the press just before their take off for Nigeria that all the necessary security measures have been taken by the Cameroonian government for a successful journey. Moreover, he said the journey is taking place in strict respect of Covid 19 measures.
