It was in a solemn church service in Buea on March 15, 2015
Thousands of Presbyterian Christian nationwide, Christians of other
denomination and Muslim Community in Buea last Sunday, March 15, 2015
witnessed the induction of Reverend Samuel Fonki Forba as the new
moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon. The ceremony that
unfolded at the premises of Presbyterian Comprehensive Secondary
School (PCSS) with a divine church service also saw Reverend Goerge
Babila Fonchang installed as the PCC new Synod Clerk. Reading from the
Act 20:28-32, Reverend Samuel Fonki in his homily dwelled on the theme
‘be transformed transformers.’ He rejoiced on the new approach adopted
by Christians to spread the gospel of Christ. “Christians are fast
becoming routine worshippers of the most high God and society is fast
becoming the pace setter of our ethical and moral values. This is
causing even pagans world to rejoice because we are no different than
them in matters of morality”. He continued that being transformed by
the renewal of the minds is what will help Christians to regain the
authority and trust of the church in the dying world. “This will
enable Christians to become transformed transformers and agents of
change, within the nation and the world at large,” he told
worshippers.
The outgoing Moderator Right Reverend Dr. Festus Ambe Asana and Synod
Clerk Reverend, William Abwenzoh Membong saluted the church for the
support they had at the time they were in the office.
