The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, this August 24, 2020 paid a working visit to the city of Douala after floods that swept through part of the city few days ago.
On August 21 a heavy down pour caused the Wouri River to overflow its banks causing material damages, estimated in billions of francs CFA, several houses submerged in water and a halt in circulation of both traffic and persons.
After a brief meeting with the etat major at the governors office, MINAT, the governor and his entourage visited the affected localities in Douala 5, Makepe Missoke.
This was followed by the distribution of humanitarian assistance items to victims of floods in this vicinity.
The delegation was also in Douala 3 where they visited Bilonge I and Cité Belge, assistance from the presidential couple was also given to those affected by the floods.
The same exercise had been previewed in the other affected sub divisions.
