The leader of the G20, who is also the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice in Cameroon, Jean De Dieu Momo, has condemned the self-proclamation made by Issa Tchiroma Bakary as the winner of the 2025 presidential election, describing it as illegal. He was speaking on October 17, 2025, in Yaounde, where he highlighted the outings of the FSNC candidate, which have set the country in disorder. The G20 is alarmed that, meanwhile, vote counting is still ongoing, and candidate Tchiroma had already proclaimed himself as the winner with statements that incited an uprising. G20 reaffirms its commitment to respecting the constitution and the legal electoral framework, ensuring that the truth of the ballot box is established by the Constitutional Council. The political group also urges parents to educate children not to fall into the trap of corrupt, selfish, and irresponsible politicians who can lure children into crime. They also appeal that authorities should investigate complaints related to calls for violence, fraud, and acts of intimidation that are linked to the October 12 polls. The G20 is a coalition of twenty opposition parties that supports public institutions.
