Littoral Region: MINAT Consolidâtes Peace with Community

Religious, traditional, civil, political and ethnic group leaders in the Littoral Region joined the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, in a peace talk consultation on November 12, 2025, at the conference hall of the Douala City Council, where they chatted about a way forward to consolidate peace in a region hit by post-election disturbances. Chaired by the MINAT boss, assisted by the governor of the Littoral, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua, each leader gave a brief of the efforts put in place to fight against incivility. The Sawa, Hausa, Tupuri, Muslim, Christian, traditional and ethnic group leaders all denounced acts of destabilisation that have shaken the Littoral after the election, where burning, looting and vandalism of property were witnessed. Addressing the leaders, Minister Atanga Nji congratulated their civic engagement, which was demonstrated through the rejection of revolts initiated by an unscrupulous politician. He called on them to continue respecting the public institutions and promote peaceful coexistence in order to maintain a stable country. The minister handed a copy of the Head of State’s swearing-in speech to each of the delegates, which is to be explored for a deeper understanding of President Paul Biya’s development vision.
