The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, has praised the population of the Far North Region, for rejecting the incitement to vandalise property and stage an insurrction against the state.The Minister lauded the people’s resilience for standing tall and going about their activities despite the protests which hit the region and disturbed businesses. Minister Atanga Nji however denounced the instrumentalisation of children; who were given drugs and paid to destroy private and public property. Extending the peace plant, MINAT said minors who were arrested in the course of post election protests would be freed but other criminals would answer for their charges. MINAT Boss, cautioned the population of the North, never to accept ghost towns because it would rather cripple the economy. The MINAT Boss reechoed the call for all the regional elites to join Presidential Paul Biya in building the nation and to work for peace, unity and living dead together. He was speaking in Garoua on November 11, 2025, during a meeting to assess the security situation of the region after the October 12 presidential election. Present was Governor Jean Abate Edi’i, administrative authorities and security officials.
