MINAT’s Atanga Nji tells local authorities in the Far North to reject disorder

The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, has cautioned local authorities in the Far North Region to reject persons who incite street protests and disorder. He met with religious, traditional and community leaders on November 11, 2025, at the governor’s office in Maroua, to fight against any impending disturbance by sensitising the layman, stating that he has been dispatched on an appeasement mission by the Head of State to bring everyone on board for the development of Cameroon.

The MINAT boss mentioned the suffering imposed by Boko Haram, which still continues to affect the Far North Region. He also cited protests that were introduced in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, which today have transformed into a crisis, wrapping people in sorrow. With these experiences, he urged the leaders in the Far North to beware of such antics and shun attempts of destabilisation. The minister made them understand that there is no country in the world without a problem, calling on them to be engaged in patriotic acts that would move the country forward. Minister Atanga Nji distributed a copy of President Paul Biya’s inaugural swearing-in speech to each of the leaders, exhorting them to exploit it and join together in preserving the values of the nation. Rounding off, the MINAT boss appealed to religious, traditional leaders and parliamentarians to implore God’s blessings on Cameroon for peace to continue to reign.
