As Cameroon prepares to vote, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, has sent a clear message: order, legality and transparency will guide the Sunday presidential elections. During a press briefing at MINAT’s conference hall on October 10, 2025, the MINAT boss reminded everyone that the state remains fully committed to guaranteeing a credible, fair and secure election. He saluted the enthusiasm shown throughout the campaign while condemning attempts by certain individuals to create illegal vote-counting platforms or announce results outside official channels. « Only the constitutional council has the authority to proclaim election results.Any self-proclaimed victory is a violation of the law and will be treated as such, » the minister warned. He equally reaffirmed that governors and senior divisional and divisional officers are on alert to ensure order and security throughout the national territory. He also called on all candidates to show humility, maturity and respect for state institutions as the country moves into the final hours before the polls. « No misconduct from whosoever shall be tolerated, » he cautioned. As Cameroon prepares to make its choice on October 12, the message from MINAT is clear: discipline, transparency and peace must guide the process.
