In prelude to the 52nd National Day celebration in Cameroon, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, led collaborators and staff of his ministry in a flag hoisting ceremony this May 15th, 2024. It began at 7:30 am with representative from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC). A team from MINJEC marched down the ministry’s esplanade holding out the flag and chanting songs of unity. The National Anthem was sung in English and French before the actual lifting up of the flag. In a brief explanation, an official from MINJEC said the National flag is a symbol of patriotism and should be accorded respect because it is the pride of the country. The flag was hoisted to signify the unity that coexist among Cameroonians which is symbolized by the flag.
