Before leaving Garoua where he represented the Head of State for the inaugauration of a mosque the Minister of Territorial Administration Atanga Nji Paul granted audience to the  Former Emir of Kano & Spiritual Leader of the Tijanniyah order of Nigeria, His Majesty Khalifa Sanusi II this March 02, 2024.  Sanusi II was amongst the personalities who was at the  reopening ceremony of the Great Mosque of Poumpoumre-Garoua. Sanusi is a prominent traditional and religious figure in West Africa. As the Khalifa of the Tijaniyyah Sufi order of Nigeria and the neighbouring countries, he arguably has a politico-spiritual authority over the second largest Sufi order, with over 50 million adherents.
