The Minister of Territorial Administration Atanga Nji Paul, who doubles as President of the National Hajj Commission, has ensured that all goes well for Muslims on pilgrimage to Mecca. The Minister was at the Douala International Airport this June 6th where he conveyed journey mercies of the presidential couple, to a group of 342 pilgrims just before they departed by air. Minister Atanga Nji also inspected aircraft captains to ensure the respect of flight schedules. Meanwhile administrative authorities in the North, today supervised another group of 267 pilgrims who took off through the Garoua international airport for Hajj. On June 3, 2024, six flights transported thousands of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the spiritual journey. The Hajj takes place between June 14 and 16. The Muslims continue to rejoice with a Hajj subsidy of 1.56 billion FCFA from President Paul Biya this year 2024 just like in previous years. Many expressed thanks to the Head of State for his kindness and said they shall pray for peace, prosperity and unity in Cameroon.
