On the heels of the ongoing International Firefighters Championship in Istanbul, Minister Atanga Nji, 4th September 2023, was received in two separate audiences at Marriott Hotel. The first was granted by the Adviser to the Minister of the Russian Federation in charge of Civil Defence and Emergencies, Daniel Martynov and the second by the President of the international Sports Federation for Firefighters and Rescuers, Alexander Chupryan. Among other issues, the audiences centered on the newly created Cameroon National Agency for Civil Protection and Cameroon’s participation at the ongoing world champioship for firefighters and rescuers. The Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration, was accompanied to the separate audiences by the Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) the Cameroonian born Mariatou Yap and Cameroon’s ambassador to Turkey, His Excellency Victor Tchatchouwo.

The World Firefighters Championship in Istanbul, Turkey began on August 31st and ends this September 5th.
