The second Bi-annual conference of Regional Governors concluded on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at the Yaounde City Council Hall with the governors exhorted to continue the task of administering the regions according to state laws. The event featured the reading of the general report by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Yves Christian Edoa Effa, followed by a closing a address by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul. During the closing ceremony, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Territorial Administration presented a report summarizing the key discussions and outcomes of the conference. Following the report, Minister Atanga Nji delivered a closing address, emphasizing the need for governors to carefully implement all prescribed measures, such as the fight against hate speech and xenophobia, the fight against counterfeit medicines, urban disorder, the appropriate examination of land and property issues, the meticulous monitoring of ongoing development projects, the respect of rules governing the appointment of traditional chiefs, as well as customs and traditions of communities involved. The minister acknowledged the dedication and proactive efforts of the regional governors in driving progress and urged them to remain vigilant at all times and respect presidential directives.
