The Chief of Mission of the AU, Bernard Makuza, together with the Chief of Mission of ECCAS, Isidore Nziem, presented an observation report of the October 12 presidential election at a press conference on October 14, 2025, at the Hilton Hotel, Yaounde. They underscored a fair collaboration with MINAT, ELECAM and MINREX as their teams obtained accreditation and were deployed across polling stations to observe the election. The AU and ECCAS spoke of a generally peaceful election in Cameroon while saluting the process that was marked by peaceful campaigns and the deployment of materials and security. They noted no major incident in the just-ended presidential elections, but challenges like the inaccessibility of polling stations, the absence of a clear electoral calendar and security problems in some regions slightly marred the process. Recommendations include a better identification of polling stations, the availability of an electoral calendar and more participation of youths, women and persons with disabilities. At the conference from the Ministry of Territorial Administration was Essimi Afouba Romuald, Inspector No. 1 of Electoral Affairs.
