Jean-Marc Châtaigner, European Union Ambassador to Cameroon, was accorded an audience by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, on January 24, 2025, in Yaoundé. Speaking after the audience, the ambassador highlighted that the discussions held with the minister were positive. He said the EU is working with Cameroon on the area of territorial administration and also on the area of decentralisation, especially in Yaoundé and Maroua. The EU representative expressed hope that the areas of common interest that bind Cameroon and the EU would enable them to explore deeper and, in turn, improve the existing relationship between the two. The delegation from the EU also had Philippe Lafosse Hopol, Head of Political Section, Press and Information for the European External Action Service, and David Kerespars of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).
