Launch of the 2024 Cameroon humanitarian response plan.

The 2024 Cameroon Humanitarian Response Plan was launched by MINAT, Atanga Nji Paul and the humanitarian community, aiming to assist 2.3 million  vulnerable individuals targeted out of 3.4 million people in need in Cameroon with a budget of 371.4 million dollars that is about 230 billion FCFA. The plan addresses urgent needs stemming from conflict, displacement, and other crises in the country. The event that took place at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel, on April 16, 2024, featured speeches from key officials, the Acting Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Siaka Coulibaly, and the Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul who said that, government is making efforts for humanitarian finances to be increased this year so as to save the lives of those who are vulnerable. MINAT  emphasized on the fact that there are no IDPs in Cameroon but people in distress who need help that Cameroonians are at home anywhere and that they should be encouraged to be self-reliant not depending on aid. Meanwhile, the Head of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs OCHA, Ms. Karen Perrin, presented an overview of the plan, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address humanitarian needs in the country.
