The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul has called on his collaborators in the Adamawa Region to step up vigilance in the midst of growing security challenges. With armed banditry, aggravated theft, kidnapping for ransom and drug trafficking to the rate of 65% perpetrated in the motor bike sector, the Minister tasked security and adminstrative officials to set up strong mechanisms including the identification of motor bike riders and vendors so as to arrest the problems. He chaired a security meeting on May 10, 2025, at the Governor’s office of the Adamawa Region in the presence of the Governor, Kildadi Taguieke Boukar, the S.DO.s, D.Os and forces of law and order. Speaking within the context of the upcoming Presidential and Regional Elections in October, the MINAT Boss enjoined the Governor, S.D.O.s and D.O.s to monitor political activities by overseeing ELECAM to ensure that the law prevails. The Administrative authorities have the task to caution political actors against hate speech, tribalism and illegal manifestations. According to the Minister, political manifestations must be done after an official approval from the competent administrative authority. In addition, manifestations are banned in localities where political parties are not represented by a parliamentarian. The Minister of Territorial Administration, went ahead to call on the civil administrative authorities to sensitise and monitor the activities of None Governmental Organisations and Associations, follow up the implementation of projects and ensure their proper execution.
