The commemoration of the National Bilinguism Week at MINAT wrapped up this Friday February 7, 2025, with a cross range of activities to emblematize Bilingualism.Present was the Secretary General of MINAT, Yves Christian Edoa Effa, repressing the Minister. After a welcome word from the Head of the Division, Dr.Werebesi Luther, there was a presentation by Mr. Aba’a Gerard, Head of the Monitoring and Management Control Division on the theme »Bilingualism: Leverage of a strong and efficient territorial administration for a responsible citizenship, social integration and cohesion for a peaceful and prosperous Cameroon. »‘He said Bilinguism consolidates national unity and bridges cultural differences thus the riches of English and French should be explored. He showcased the relevance of Bilinguism in Cameroon by citing official texts and daily practices in the administration. Speaking at the occasion, the S.G, highlighted the practical aspects of Bilingualism in MINAT including the production of documents, production of the radio program « La Territoriale » and service to staff and the public in English and French. He appreciated the DTPB for organizing the ceremony and encouraged the improvement of Bilingualism. There was also a prize award to meritorious persons from the language competition and to the best DTPB staff. A cultural display and a photo session, spiced the ceremony.
