Minister Atanga Nji Supports Women in Traditional Leadership

On August 27, 2024, in Yaoundé, Minister Paul ATANGA NJI encouraged the unique role of women leaders in traditional chieftaincies during a workshop organized by the gender-oriented NGO known as « Association des Femmes et Filles de l’Adamaoua » (AFFADA), led by President Francois Baba. The workshop aimed to mobilize stakeholders for the systematic integration of women into traditional councils of notables across chiefdoms in Cameroon.The Minister of Territorial Administration declared his availability and readiness to support AFFADA’s activities, emphasizing that women play an essential role in society that is crucial for traditional chieftaincies. The workshop brought together traditional chiefs from all ten regions of Cameroon. President Baba noted that women’s roles are not meant to replace men but to strengthen gender parity.
