Presidential election 2025: New perspective international electoral order stakeholders

Sékouba Kônaté, the head of the election observation mission, for Nouvelle Perspective Internationale has praised the calm, discipline, and maturity during the October 12, presidential election in Cameroon. This was the subject of an observation report which he presented on October 15, 2025 in Yaounde. Nouvelle Perspective Suisse and Nouvelle Perspective Cameroon, were the two teams mobilised to observe. Their report attests to collaboration with MINAT, ELECAM, the civil society, political parties and other observer teams which enabled them to deploy 35 observers across 5 regions in 1340 polling stations precisely in Douala, Yaounde, Bertoua and Bafoussam. After noting a generally peaceful election with sufficient electoral materials, respect of the opening and closing time of the polling stations and the remarkable presence of security forces which protected the electorate, Nouvelle Perspective Internationale, recommends the strengthening of the capacity of polling agents, nearness of polling stations to voters and respect of the Constitutional Council, the official office charged with results proclamation. They hailed the patriotic spirit of Cameroonians who voted with enthusiasm. General Sékouba Kônaté it should be noted, was the former transitional president of Guinea and former High Representative of the Standby African Standby Force.
