The Minister of Territorial Administration Atanga Nji Paul presided over a security briefing this February 29, 2024 at the North Regional Governor’s Office. This is coming on the heels of the inauguration of the Garoua Central Mosque on Friday, March 1st, 2024 where the Minister will be officially representing the President of the Republic. Amongst those present at the security meeting were administrative authorities and defence and security forces of the Region.In his preliminary remarks, Minister Atanga Nji said, despite some security challenges, efforts have been made by security forces to keep peace. Therefore with the upcoming elections, there is the need of sharing of information by all stakeholders to anticipate pockets of disturbance and stop terrorism, banditry and kidnappings for ransom.MINAT, congratulated the people of Garoua through their Governor for maintaining a clean city and encouraged the Governor to keep up the good work. Concerning activities of moto bikes, the Minister confirmed that, their message to the Head of State from the 10 regions during his birthday has been transmitted and that the Governor should convey feedback to them. He also castigated moto bike riders involved in kidnapping, emphasizing that, there is need for vigilance, frequent control and respect of the law.
