Security forces in Yaoundé have arrested a total of 27 robbers, identified as “microbes”. Gendarmes first apprehended a gang of 14 suspects who attacked traders at the Mokolo market in Yaoundé on Thursday, June 5, 2025. The security forces also seized weapons from the gang, including machetes and knives. The 14 shall stay under administrative custody after they were presented to the State Counsel then at the Kondengui Central Prison for a period of 15 days renewable following an administrative order from the SDO of Mfoundi, Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent.
During the weekend another gang of 13 suspected ‘microbes’ were tracked and arrested for acts of terror in Yaoundé by the police. The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, has requested for investigations to be done under the laws in force.
